Integrated STEM for Young Children
Join us to explore Ron’s Ramp - a hands-on, integrated STEM experience for young children, Pre K and K. Learn to harness the natural inclination of young children to be scientists and engineers while teaching about force, slope, friction, and graphing in an engineering design challenge. Help Ron, the skateboarding armadillo, learn about how far he will travel when rolling down the ramp at the park. Use graphs to record data and explore the math and science in this STEM adventure for young children.

Integrated STEM for Primary Students
Join us to explore Helicopter Hang Time - a hands-on integrated STEM experience for first and second grade students. Children develop skills in engineering design, data analysis, and arrays while building confidence and competence in math and science process skills. How can you make a helicopter land more slowly? Test a helicopter blade and then design one which will land more slowly. Explore the math and science embedded in this challenge as you conduct fair tests of your design to determine which meets the criteria and constraints of this exploration.

Integrated STEM for Intermediate Students
Join us for a hands-on engineering design challenge building stands for Silly Straws. Students will use their measurement skills along with their writing skills to design a stand for silly straws and then create an assembly kit, including instructions, for use by their classmates. Join us to design a display stand for silly straws, meeting given criteria and constraints and then work on the challenge of creating an assembly kit, including instructions, for your stand. Students practice communication skills, measurement, and problem solving strategies as they work on this engineering design challenge.
